JV live at 7:30 p.m. for the Ubisoft Forward Skull & Bones
After following all the E3 conferences with you, we’re back at Ubisoft Forward. The latter will not focus on all upcoming games from Ubisoft, but on one in particular, namely Skull and Bones. If an event dedicated to the game was the subject of many rumors, it is still a surprise, as Ubisoft has been discreet about its game, even becoming an Arlesian.
We will therefore follow this event with you. The JV team will finally meet you from 7:30 p.m. to discuss the game and our expectations a bit before seeing whether or not they will come true throughout the event. This time, no big set, but a set up for two to follow the event with you as if we were at home. Fkz and meakaya will be your captains throughout the voyage!
Of course, we will then debrief what we saw live, but also on Twitter through a Space. So follow us on Twitter and Youtube so as not to miss anything.
Skull and Bones: Ubisoft’s multiplayer pirate game
Skull and Bones is what we call an Arlesian. Announced at E3 2017, the game made quite an impression. It must be said that graphically speaking, the trailer that had been unveiled gave a lot of desire, just like the concept elsewhere. But what is it? Well Skull and Bones was presented as a giant naval battle game set in the middle of the Golden Age of Piracy. As you can imagine, you play as a pirate who sails the waves in search of boats to sink and loot to plunder. Ubisoft then promised us a particularly ambitious game and gave us an appointment in the fall of 2018. That year, we were even able to try the game and it must be said that the gameplay worked well. Everything seemed to be going well for the new IP straight out of the offices of Ubisoft Singapore, but lo and behold, the storm did not take long to strike.
The game was initially postponed, several times. And then the communication around the title decreased, drastically. So much so that in 2021, it was the most total radio silence on the side of the developers. Some were therefore beginning to worry, thinking they would never see the title released. Especially since the various echoes collected by certain journalists did not bode well. According to them, the project was changed many times, struggling to find its true identity.
But here we are, we finally had news of the game… or at least an appointment. Earlier in the week Ubisoft indeed gave us an appointment today, Thursday July 7, at 8 p.m. for a formal approach. Suffice to say that hackers in the making are eager to discover what Ubisoft has to show us. We of course hope for some clarifications, gameplay and maybe, who knows, a release date.
Meeting on JV’s Youtube channel from 7:30 p.m. to see what this Ubisoft Forward dedicated to Skull and Bones has in store for us.
