That’s it, it’s official. Wrath of the Lich King classic will be available on September 27. Prepare to return the road to Northrend and face the Scourge of the Lich King. Progress to level 80 and cleanse the continent of lurking threats, or answer the call of the Death Knights. Are you ready to take up arms again?

In the grim Citadel of Icecrown, the Lich King Arthas Menethil plots to take over the world, a project that threatens to eradicate all life on Azeroth. The heroes and heroines of the Alliance and Horde must stand against this evil being who dares to claim he is the only rightful king of Azeroth… and seeks to wipe out the living from this world.

Wrath of the Lich King Classic™ will thrill first-time fans and first-timers alike with a host of enhanced features and content to check out:

  • The grim northern icy lands: the heroes and heroines will begin their journey in one of the two zones of Northrend, the Borean Tundra or the Howling Fjord, and will discover spectacular landscapes and thrilling scenarios, before entering the domain of the Lich King, the Crown of ice.
  • Return of the Death Knights: available for both factions and from level 55, death knights, the first hero class of World of Warcraftuse the powers of darkness to fight the evil that plagues Azeroth. You can only have one death knight per server and must first have a level 55 character on that same server, but in Wrath of the Lich King classicthis requirement is waived for your first death knight.
  • New Profession — Calligraphy: this new profession allows you to create mystical glyphs that modify the properties of spells and techniques (cooldown, damage, etc.), but also to craft powerful jewelry and off-hand items.
  • Achievements unlocked: achievements appear in Classic WoWand will come to salute the exploits of the players thanks to new rewards.
  • Dungeons and Raids: adventure-seeking souls can relive iconic 5-player dungeons such as Azjol-Nerub and the Purging of Stratholme, and lay siege to Naxxramas in a 10 or 25-player raid, a refresh of its 40-player version introduced before the output of the extension.
  • Included in subscription World of Warcraft : as with previous versions of Classic WoWsubscribers to World of Warcraft can also play Wrath of the Lich King classic no additional cost.

The road ahead is icy and full of dangers. To help you prepare for your adventures in Wrath of the Lich King classicthe players of Burning Crusade Classic will benefit from an experience bonus called “Joyous Journeys” which will increase experience gains* by 50%! This is the perfect time to finish leveling up a character, create a new one, or invite friends to join you on your adventures.

Players can also visit any innkeeper in a capital city to activate or deactivate the experience bonus. The journey won’t last forever and will end with the launch of Wrath of the Lich King classic.
