Quinté+ on Monday at Clairefontaine-Deauville in the Grand Steeple-Chase – Ville de Deauville, a Listed level steeplechase handicap (ref. + 8), over 4500 meters, for all horses aged 5 and over who have run since the January 1 of last year inclusive. The ground is announced good soft (3.4) by France Galop. Gifted, RISK YOURSELF BRIZAIS (our photo) should play a leading role.

3 RISK YOURSELF BRIZAIS : After winning over the Clairefontaine-Deauville hurdles on July 21, this 5-year-old gelding trained by Arnaud Chaillé-Chaillé won the 4000m steeplechase at Lion d’Angers on 7 August. He had two weeks to recover and seems able to shine in this handicap in 62 value.

12 CLASSIC RAFFLES : Of the 3900 steeples at Clairefontaine-Deauville, this resident of Dominique Bressou won on June 20 in a Class 2 and finished second on July 28 in a Class 1. In 56 of value for his debut in the handicaps, this late 7-year-old gelding promises to be formidable, especially as he will be wearing blinkers for the first time.

9 OBEAUX DENTOR : Twice third in the Class 1 and Class 2 races mentioned above, this 6-year-old gelding will race on Monday for third this year. It is in shape and also has freshness. His means are obvious. Watch out for him!

5 HISPANIC MOON : After achieving several good performances last winter at Pau, he finished fourth on July 28, for his comeback, in the Class 1 race mentioned above. This resident of David Cottin has the size to play a very good role in this Quinté+.

7 ARAUCARIAS : This resident of François Nicolle showed interesting means in four steeplechase attempts this year. He won twice, at La Roche-Posay and Dax and remains on a fourth place (out of five starters) in the Grand Steeple-Chase of Dieppe. In 59 value for his first handicap, this 5-year-old gelding certainly has a good card to play.

8 ELVIS OF BALME : Second in the Quinté+ of July 28 over hurdles at Clairefontaine-Deauville, this gelding of 8 from the training of François Nicolle is in good shape. He returns to steeplechase, a specialty in which he won three times, once at Auteuil, twice in the provinces. It is in this handicap a good possibility.

4 CALINUIT : Fourth in the Quinté+ of July 28 mentioned above, this regular 8-year-old gelding also has good references over large obstacles. In 2017, he ran well on the Clairefontaine-Deauville steeplechase. He’s a good underdog.

1 GIVE THE CHANGE : Top-weight of the race with 72 kilos, it is theoretically competitive in 64 of value. Although not seen since June 28, at Auteuil, this high quality jumper can be considered for a small place.

In case of non-starter : 11 BERYLL MANY
