Game News PSVR 2: the release date of the virtual reality headset finally specified by PlayStation

More than six months after its formalization by Jim Ryan (president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment), the PSVR 2 virtual reality headset has found a release date: it’s not that long.

PSVR 2: When is the release?

Revealed and made official at the start of the year on the occasion of the Consumer Electronics ShowPlayStation’s virtual reality headset was full of details: type of screen, resolution, refresh rate… Most of the technical characteristics were then provided by Jim Ryan (president and SEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment). Unfortunately, two important pieces of information were missing since the price and the release date were missing. For the latter, however, the situation has been corrected:

Available early 2023.

Indeed, PlayStation has communicated on its social networks (Twitter and Instagram) the release period of PSVR 2. An announcement therefore made quite suddenly, but which still has its effect.

PSVR 2: what we know about the games

Of course, we regret the absence of a precise date even if we assume that it should arrive in the weeks to come. In any case, it is from 2023 that we will be able to have fun with the PlayStation VR 2 catalog: if the headset can only be used with the PlayStation 5, the previous titles should be backward compatible on this new version of the system. On this subject, it was Jim Ryan who mentioned that the helmet would be launched with twenty major titles.

For the moment, few titles are announced. We know that Horizon: Call of the Mountain should be an expected release, after the cardboard of the opuses Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. At the same time, it is another successful saga, already well established in the world of virtual reality which should also arrive on PS VR 2: Resident Evil, with the remake of the fourth episode and Village (the eighth, released in 2021), is expected in 2023. Finally, the game No Man’s Sky should get an upgraded version, while The Walking Dead Saints & Sinners 2: Retribution is planned for PSVR and PSVR 2.

Horizon: Call of the Mountain, Resident Evil 4 Remake, No Man’s Sky.
