Game News PS5: towards a huge PlayStation Showcase with big excluded on the sidelines of gamescom?
Seen from here, the Summer Game Fest period seems already far away. And yet, the major meetings have not said their last word. Little by little, we are getting closer to the annual Cologne fair, namely Gamescom, before the Game Awards already close the year 2022. A few weeks before the German video game event, the presence of Sony and PlayStation in margin of it feeds the hallway noises and there could well be a big surprise!

Sony and PlayStation are getting closer to Gamescom?
In just under three weeks, the event of Opening Night Live will kick off gamescom 2022. Unlike E3, the German video game fair has decided not to ignore it and, on the contrary, to put on a big show to celebrate the future of video games.. And this, both with its consumers and in the company of its most notorious players. Despite this enthusiasm on the part of the organization, some of the manufacturers like Nintendo still decided to shun the event to ensure their own communication with an in-house presentation. The Japanese manufacturer Sony was also at the center of the debates concerning its decision not to respond, but that does not mean that it would not prepare something.

Like E3, Sony could decide to organize a separate event. And what an event since it would not be a simple State of Play! Usually, Sony rather gives us an appointment in September for its PlayStation Showcase: last year, the manufacturer inundated us with significant announcements such as the return of God of War: Ragnarokthe revelation of Grand Touring 7the reissue of Grand Theft Auto V on the new consoles, the joint adventure of Peter Parker and Miles Morales in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 or even the announcement of a remake of the mythical Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (which seems, by the way, pretty bad). However, behind the scenes, things seem to be getting ready and a rumor is making your mouth water.
God of War: Ragnarok, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Hogwarts Legacy… Who will be there?
As so often, it is fashionable to take rumors with a grain of salt, even if this one comes from a tweet posted by Nick Baker, founder of the site XboxErawho has repeatedly distinguished himself by the quality of his information. According to the sources he has, he recently indicated that Sony may move their schedule forward a few weeks to hold their PlayStation Showcase in August, rather than September.. However, to avoid suffering the grumbling of disappointed players, he mentions that the progress of the event is not completely sure and that it could indeed take place, as usual, in September.
So because *I was* asked, I asked if Sony had a show planned for September and was told that at the moment the plan was for a show in August. But just to make sure those who want to be pissed off at me will be, “I don’t know if this is going to be inappropriate” was also part of the response!

So things are falling into place for Sony to promote its future exclusives and upcoming games on the PlayStation 5.. We imagine that a new trailer for God of War: Ragnarok could teach us more about the cataclysmic epic that Kratos and Atreus will undertake, that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 could make an appearance again, a year after its revelation, or that Hogwarts Legacy – who resurfaced in the news just recently — finally giving us a release date! The program could be attractive, especially since a few surprises could be included in this pretty list of titles to be published. In short, let’s stay tuned for an upcoming announcement from the manufacturer!
