Game News PS4: the 7 games to watch in August 2022
The PlayStation 4 is approaching the end of its cycle, but rest assured: 2022 still has some nice surprises in store for it, some of which will be released in August. Without further ado, here is our selection of the most interesting apps of the coming weeks: you just have to make your choice. The good life.
- Two-point campus
- Worship of the Lamb
- Saints Row
- Responsible for F1 2022
- Soul Hackers 2
- The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero
The Two Point saga is starting to have a nice background in the middle of management games and its last episode, Two Point Hospital, was a real good demonstration of it. Fans of the genre will therefore be delighted to learn of the return of the saga with Two Point Campus which, as its name suggests, asks us this time to manage a university by developing it to the maximum, by making our students the best… and by generating profit. Beyond its very well-oiled mechanics, the title published by SEGA is based on a wacky, funny universe full of dark or absurd humor that often hits the mark. We’re pretty sure it’s going to be a solid bet, so keep an eye out for the app you’re looking for an experience of this style.

Worship of the Lamb
When Devolver Digital announces a new title, one should always watch it carefully and Cult of the Lamb is certainly no exception to this tradition: it is even one of the most exciting games of the moment. This production designed by Massive Monster puts us in the shoes of a lamb, saved from the slaughterhouse by a mysterious individual: enlightened, you will then form your sect and attract as many followers as possible, while facing the false prophets who stand in your way. A particularly WTF pitch, yes, but an exquisite atmosphere and an attractive artistic direction for this roguelite and dungeon-crawler that is making a lot of noise. It is also compared a lot to Binding of Isaac, which is clearly not to displease us, let’s face it.
Announced only a few months ago, RollerDrome is the brand new project from the talented Roll7 studio, based in England and known for being behind the excellent skate games OlliOlli. This time around, the Brits are stepping up a gear by opting for 3D, still with wrinkles… but also with guns and slow motion shootouts. The principle is therefore, on paper, quite sexy since we are talking about facing enemies in arenas by chaining tricks and headshots, all with bullet time galore and in a very colorful artistic direction. An improbable mix between Max Payne and Jet Set Radio necessarily arouses our curiosity and that we will not fail to test when it is released, exclusively on PlayStation and PC.
After four episodes with increasingly implausible concepts, it was becoming difficult for the Saints Row saga to continue on these same paths and Vollition therefore had to opt (quite logically, moreover) for the very fashionable passage of the reboot. So here is Saints Row, the revival of the saga which still looks like a GTA-like, but this time in a brand new setting inspired by Las Vegas called Santo Ileso. For the rest, we are on familiar ground: we have to create our “Boss” thanks to an ultra-permissive character editor and grow our gang of Saints while crushing the competition. Again and again, the adventure promises to be very irreverent, often burlesque, but with one watchword: fun for a totally crazy sandbox.

Responsible for F1 2022
“Management” simulations are quite popular and if, for many, the famous Football Manager remains a reference, we must not forget either F1 Manager 2022 which pays tribute to motor sports. We therefore find ourselves at the head of a Formula 1 team in this advanced software developed by Frontier in partnership with the FIA: the player will have to take care of all the facets of the company, from the development of the single-seater to the factories, without forgetting the contract of the pilots or the different budgets. The races will also be important, with the right strategy to approach in order to win the famous championship. In short, something to enjoy when you’re a fan of the discipline, huge life in support.

Soul Hackers 2
Soul Hackers 2 is a rather improbable sequel since it continues the story of its predecessor Devil Summoner, released twenty-five years ago on Saturn, then on the first PlayStation. Suffice to say that Atlus has a real heritage here: this typically Japanese RPG and planted in the Megami Tensei series should therefore please fans of the series (and as much to say that there are some), allowing them to find a “Cyberpunk and dangerous Japan”. In particular, we will go to the side of the agents of Aion, whose goal is to “decipher destiny” in an attempt to save the world from the apocalypse. A loaded program and in turn by turn, let’s do it well to specify it.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero
The Legend of Heroes is a saga already well known to Japanese role-playing game fans and it will soon have a “new” episode, bearing the sweet subtitle of Trails from Zero. The setting for it will be set a year after the events of Trails in the Sky and revolve around Crossbel and Lloyd Bannings, who has just become a detective. Note that this is therefore a very Japanese RPG and turn by everything, originally released in 2010 on PSP, which will offer for the occasion a nice polish. A Deluxe edition is also planned, which will include the soundtrack in dematerialized form as well as an illustrated mini-book.
