Behind the creation of the Predator, we find the emblematic artist Stan Winston. He is one of Hollywood’s greatest makeup artists along with Rick Baker. But before this iconic look, the monster looked like something else entirely. It was Jean-Claude Van Damme who was initially to play him. On the board, the appearance of the creature created by Boss Movie Studios is disputed. The Belgian actor is fired from the production. He is replaced by Kevin Peter Hall in a brand new costume created by Stan Winston.

The film The Predator by Shane Black in turn presents a new version of the monster: the Ultimate Predator. Genetically modified, the super warrior, of an impressive size, is certainly the most powerful of all. In the feature film, he is embodied in motion capture – a technique for capturing the movements of real actors to transcribe them by computer – by Brian A. Prince and Kyle Strauts.
Prey (2022)
Disney+
In Preythe very last installment directed by Dan Trachtenberg, the Predator is very different from the other versions. He appears taller and thinner, with a much larger jawline. His helmet is made from a piece of skeleton. It is quite possible to deduce that the technology of warriors was not so developed at that time. Dane DiLiegro, a former professional basketball player, plays the monster.
