The Mafia leaks information

Since September 25, 2020, almost two years ago, the entire trilogy Mafia has a final version that allows us to enjoy the series in new enough recent versions. But it must be said that since the release of Mafia 3in October 2016, the license did not really do anything new. However, gamers began to get a glimmer of hope last May when early reports of Hangar 13’s upcoming title began to spread online.

Thanks to My boxwe had gotten our hands on a whole bunch of details about this unofficial title from the studio Hangar 13. The project, codenamed “Nero” internally, would take place at the very end of the 19th century (between 1890 and the early 1900s), which would imply that this is a prequel to Mafia and not a sequence of Mafia 3and that it would benefit from development under Unreal Engine 5or the promise of discovering a setting and sumptuous decorations, and what more in Sicily ! Beyond this tantalizing information, other sources evoked a more linear formulato the detriment of a new open world, which would correspond more to the DNA of the license. Today, and three months later, Roman Hladík came out of his silence…

Hangar 13’s Godfather has spoken!

Inevitably, the general manager of the Hangar 13 studio was not going to miss such an event. And, suddenly, who says “birthday”, says “surprise gift” for fans. Without a doubt, they are more than happy to learn, as announced by Roman Hladík, that a brand new Mafia project is being developed within the studio.. Nevertheless, it is still too early, according to the manager, to disclose information about this title and even less to react to rumors – which are to be taken with a grain of salt, remember – concerning this mysterious project. Waiting, here is what he said during his recent interview.

I am happy to confirm that we have started working on a brand new Mafia project (…) Although it is a few years away and we cannot share anything more at this time, we are really excited to continue working on this beloved franchise and to entertain our players with new stories. — Roman Hladík, general manager of Hangar 13 studio

Yes, as he confirmed himself, we will have to be extremely patient before knowing what this prequel (or this sequel) will fully reserve for us.. Note that the Hangar 13 studio has recently experienced some upheaval — the departure of the founder of the studio as well as the cancellation of a title codenamed “Volt” by 2K — which may explain why the studio needs time to get things right and meet the expectations of the gaming community.
