When we analyze the performance of champions in League of Legends, we do so from a general perspective. Unconsciously or based on the most basic stats, we do a quick scan to decide if a character is interesting. This is actually a very useful practice. However, if we go this route, we risk missing out on some of the more exciting details Riot Games has in store for champions. It’s something to think about and can help us make really good decisions when it comes to adapting everything to our style of play.
The champions who suffer the most over the minutes
After looking at some other interesting facts, like which champions deal the most damage or heal the most, we decided to focus on a less obvious stat this time around. There are hardly any gauges and we had to go through them on a case-by-case basis, but by focusing on the advanced stats we can determine what are the worst league of legends champions as the game progresses. A gallery with characters who can have good overall performance, but who will leave us stranded if we don’t finish the game quickly.
Below are the five characters who stand the test of time the worst.

The truth is that these statistics are very curious, because we have three champions whose win rate can drop by around 20% as the game progresses. The most exaggerated case is that of Pyke, who could leave us stranded at any moment. This makes sense when you think about it, as he is one of the characters who finds himself in the worst position when his opponents start equipping Zhonya’s Hourglass or Guardian Angel. The situation is similar for Tryndamere, who also performs poorly in teamfights beyond the five seconds of his ultimate.
However, the case that caught our attention the most was that of Elise. You would suspect that this champion was one of the worst in all of League of Legends in the final minutes, but it was hard to expect that to be so over the top. It is downright the worst of the 161 options currently available in the game. In large part, this is also due to its lack of scaling. It is similar to the case of Rumble or Rek’Sai, although a little more exaggerated. There are heroes that just don’t increase their damage at the same rate as others and you can’t fault the game systems for not favoring them.

All things considered, these champions aren’t the worst in League of Legends. The data puts Rumble as the worst performer in ranked matches, but he wins 50.25% of his games. To give other examples, Rek’Sai spent a lot of the last few patches in our tier list and Tryndamere was played competitively regularly last season. In that sense, we don’t have to avoid these champions as long as they suit our style. If of course you prefer long games that often exceed 30 minutes of play, then of course they are not your best option.

Since its deployment, the Star Guardian event in League of Legends has suffered numerous bugs, to the point that advancing in it became impossible for some people. Riot Games has therefore decided to extend it.
