Game news Harvestella: New info and images for Square Enix’s Final Fantasy / Animal Crossing!
Unveiled during the Nintendo Direct in June 2022, Harvestella is a new Square Enix license that mixes life simulation and action-RPG. A bet already tried in the past but which here seems more general public than ever. The Japanese publisher has just revealed new details about it.
Yep, mixing two genres that don’t seem to have much in common isn’t unique to indie games. Harvestella, developed by Live Wire and published by Square Enix, is proof of this. The project is a mix between a life simulation and action-RPGas a kind of meeting between Animal Crossing and Final Fantasy. Basically, the idea is to manage a farm (plant, livestock, fishing) by managing its social life – all with action phases and an emphasis on the scenario. A scenario that focuses here on the “Quietus”, a mysterious power that causes the disappearance of crops between winter, spring, summer, without forgetting autumn.
Discover the city of Nemea
In a last article, we explained everything there is to know about the project. But since then, Square Enix has revealed new details. Starting with the magical town of Nemea, whose flowers bloom all season long thanks to the Spring Seaslight. Day and night, the city reveals a very special atmosphere. But behind this apparent tranquility, a misfortune approaches:
“A giant egg appeared on the Spring Seaslight (of Nemea) one of the giant crystals that governs the seasons. Since then, monsters have been in town, attacking the inhabitants” -Square Enix

As we told you above, Harvestella makes a point of honor on its scenario and will even offer several cities, including Nemea. By the way – Square Enix takes advantage of its short speech to present Istina, a teacher who lives with the children of the local orphanage and who will obviously have a role to play in this corner of the world. “Istina is said to have arrived in Nemea only a few years ago,” Square Enix tells us on its official website. “By meeting the protagonist, she will have to face the past that she has hidden” can we read.
New class in the arena
Finally, apart from a few details on the social aspect, fishing and agriculture, Square Enix looked at the Sky Lancer, a new character class entering alongside the Fighter, Mage and Shadow Walker. “This class uses a spear and excels in physical attacks with wind attributes. Because it learns many wide-range skills that take advantage of the weapon’s length, Sky Lancer is very useful in front of multiple enemies. Decidedly, Harvestella seems very complete. Released November 4 on PC and Switch.
