Dying Light comes to compete with Dying Light 2 with a Definitive Edition

Game News Dying Light comes to compete with Dying Light 2 with a Definitive Edition

In 2015, to entice gamers on the eighth generation of consoles, Techland unveiled Dying Light, a title that mixes parkour à la Mirror’s Edge and zombie-killing like Dead Island. Today, more than 7 years after its first launch and a few months after the release of its second episode, the title, to our greatest astonishment, returns to the front of the stage to announce the arrival of a new re-release.

Dying Light first of the name is back!

Seven years after its first launch, dying light first of the name is back! Indeed, the title which has received more than 26 DLCs since its release, including several large expansions, will be entitled to a Definitive Edition, starting tomorrow.

Dying Light has been a fantastic journey. We are grateful to the community for supporting the game with us for the past 7 years. However, we also understand that the number of updates and DLC released for our game can be daunting for new and old players alike. We don’t want you to miss any part of the full Dying Light experience. That’s why we’re proud to present Dying Light: Definitive Edition!

This ultimate edition of the game will therefore be released in digital version on PC (via Steam and Epic Game Store), but also on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Also note that a Nintendo Switch version of Dying Light: Definitive Edition is planned, it will be available at a later date.

What content for this Definitive Edition?

The Definitive Edition version of Dying Light includes all 26 DLCs of the game, including The Following, which offers driving buggies on an open and less aerial map, but also Hellraid which takes you on a journey to a world where knights and other skeletons reign.

The Definitive Edition includes the base game and all 26 DLCs (including skin packs and expansion packs). It’s the best way to experience the amount of content and love we’ve put into this game for 7 long years.

Additional surprise, Techland adds that fans will also be able to receive a brand new pack (the Harran Tactical Unit Pack) for free. However, to take advantage of this offer, you will have to hurry since it will only be available for download for two weeks after the launch of the new version of Dying Light.

To thank you for allowing us to spend all these great years with Dying Light, we would like to offer you a free DLC: the Harran Tactical Unit Pack. However, hurry as this is a limited time offer that will only be available for 2 weeks after the Definitive Edition is released!.

More good news: Players who own the Platinum Edition of the game will be able to upgrade to the Definitive Edition starting tomorrow at no extra cost.

This release marks an important moment in the history of Dying Light. On the one hand, it is the showcase of 7 years of immense love and support for this game; on the other hand, it is the grand finale of our adventures in Harran. But hey… let’s see what the future holds. And don’t worry, we’ll be bringing you old events regularly.

Finally, we learn that the game will have no more content in the future, but that players can count on the return of old events and above all, note that this Definitive Edition will be sold for a time at -70%.
