Game News Assassin’s Creed: name, release date, location and homecoming, the new game on the run!
We will not surprise anyone if we say that Ubisoft has a hard time keeping its games secret: leaks are recurrent and rumors insistent. Today, the new Assassin’s Creed game is concerned with a lot of interesting information, although to be taken with a grain of salt as a precautionary measure.
A very big leak, yes, but…
If we know that Ubisoft is working on Assassin’s Creed Infinity, a still mysterious title that would like to be an ambitious service game bringing together multiple eras and emblematic heroes, it has been said for quite a while now that another opus is currently in preparation, baptized until then Assassin’s Creed Rift according to the rumors of the corridor.
Today, the YouTuber j0nathan drops a big stone in the fed up with a video providing many details recovered from its sources which, if true, announce a real homecoming for all fans of the franchise.
Very important fact: Jason Schreieris one of the most reputable journalists in the industry, came to corroborate in part these details through one of his close sources. The latter also took the opportunity to deny othershence the need not to take everything at face value while waiting for a possible formalization.
Someone familiar tells me that parts of this new Assassin’s Creed leak are true (like the name and other things Bloomberg has already posted: Spring 2023, Baghdad, back to AC bases) and other parts are not (“several cities to explore”).
You have been warned. Now, let’s look at it carefully.
Make way for Assassin’s Creed Mirage
NAME, RELEASE DATE AND OFFICIALIZATION

The Ubisoft Forward, a showcase organized on September 10, 2022
This new Assassin’s Creed would therefore be called Assassin’s Creed Mirage. That’s it, it’s said and moreover, its release date would be scheduled for spring 2023somewhere from April to June (information approved by Jason Schreier’s source, therefore). The software would be revealed during the Ubisoft Forward, on September 10.
SETTING, STORY AND CHARACTER
On the context side, the adventure would take place in Baghdad between 860 and 870during the Anarchy in Samarra. A troubled period in the history of the Abbasid Caliphate (the government that governed the Muslim world at the time) where many caliphs succeeded each other violently, manipulated and sowing terror in the country.

Basim Ibn Ishaq in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
The player would embody Basim Ibn Ishaq in his youth until his arrival in Those Who We Do Not See: a character that fans know well since introduced in the opus Valhalla. By the way, the “Visions of Loki” would also be addressed in the adventureBasim being a character who inherited memories from the God of Mischief as explained in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Several cities are to be explored (information denied, however, by Schreier’s source), separated by a desert and rivers like the Kingdom of the very first Assassin’s Creed.
As a matter of fact, this last part would also be a big inspiration for Assassin’s Creed Mirage, announced as a return to basics in today’s case.
GAME DESIGN, GAMEPLAY AND REMAKE OF AC 1

Assassin’s Creed 1 (2007)
Infiltration would then be an important mechanism and a lot of RPG elements like dialogue choices, genre choice, and experience levels would be removed. This kind of tribute to the first game of the saga would not be insignificant since‘Ubisoft would like to reuse some of the work for a proper remake of AC1.
The gameplay, meanwhile, would change drastically from Valhalla (to force, we imagine, the difference with the RPG aspect) with new animations and less raw violence. Infiltration would therefore take an important part with the return of eagle vision (which would look like a drone, like the bird in the last game) while Basim could use a rope dagger to eliminate his opponents.
SEASON PASS

Constantinople in Assassin’s Creed Revelations (2011)
Finally, a word on game tracking which is also covered: a season pass would be well proposed, which would contain a DLC taking place in Constantinople (a city already explored in Revelations, by the way) exploring the encounter between Basim and Sigurd. This would be published several months after the release. other size information, the season pass would also include the famous remake of Assassin’s Creed first of the name.
In short, while waiting to disentangle the true from the false – since apparently, there are both – we will try to stay on our guard as to a possible press release from Ubisoft… or a formalization during the big showcase scheduled for September 10?
